In the beginning …

Very old yews are planted around the house, and there is lots of grass. The available gardening space is on the front and one side of the property. Only a strip of land behind the house and beside the driveway exists. There are also many trees, including oaks, maples, and a linden tree. These give plenty of shade, which creates some challenges for gardening.

The Overall Plan

The plan for the food forest is divided into zones, and each zone is given a name. The house and driveway/patio take up more than 1/3 of the property. Using this space to best advantage is also part of the goal.
